This link leads you too a cool original game. But it has been improved! Its magnetic foosball. This eliminates the metal bars. These bars could hurt your opponent frequently and the opponent could cheat by holding the bars, therefore you could not use that part of the table to score a goal. Check it out pretty neat!!!

SAP Game

I had a great time during the SAP game. My team(team H) did very well in round one. We came in 3rd place out of the class. Are strategy was to market on different type of water bottle each time. Especially, if they had plenty of water bottles in the inventory. We also would lower the price of drinks that were not selling. On drinks that were selling really well(original water) we would put the prices up just a little, about fifty cents.

Round 2 and 3, my team didn't do as well. We had to replenish our inventory and we did it too much. The costs to replenish all the inventory was too high. We also marketed too much. We spent the most money on marketing in the whole class in both rounds (2 and 3). We came in 6th place in round 2 and 7th in round 3.

I learned the marketing process needs to work parallel with the people who make the prices and inventory. I also learned how hard it would be to run a business. I only had to do one section of a business for a few minutes and it was stressful.

Facebook in the Workplace

I totally understand the reasoning behind why Apple chose to fire the employee. But was it right? Personally, I agree in a certain extent. A company doesn't want a bad reputation, especially if its being spread from an employee. I really don't know why an employee would want to say bad things about their employer(even if they believe it) on a social network because of massive people that use them. The article even stated about college kids at interviews that "over half not accepting a job that bans social media in the workplace." Meaning our generation is so attached to social networking, they will not even accept a job without being able to use one. Which is almost sad, seeing how many people can not find jobs right now. Therefore, by saying a negative comment on a social network, the comment will reach tons of people and influence them to purchase goods or services elsewhere. I don't know if Apple needed to go as far as firing the employee though. Maybe should of suspended the employee at most in my opinion.

Decisions with Software

I have provided a link to download "The Weather Channel Desktop Software". It is a little window that provides the current weather and the weather in the new future. When I'm in my room and I'm unsure what to wear on the way to class all I have to do is to look at my computer and I’m informed. In seconds I know if it’s a little chilly out (jean weather) or if it’s scorching hot (wife beater) weather. It is just a convenient piece of technology, which makes my life a little bit simpler.

Plagiarism and College

Technology makes it extremely easy to just copy and paste someone else's work and turn it in as your own. There are many sources of information on the internet alone. I found on the website above that forty percent of college students have plagiary at least once in their college career. This statistic doesn't surprise me at all. I'm actually surprised it is that low. At a click of a mouse a student can have millions of documents of information. It makes it too easy to pretend that those words are yours. Or even just change the phrasing. Schools have cracked down on catching students by making it a requirement to turn in papers to websites that scan for plagiary. In the website above it claims forty eight students quit or were expelled recently for plagiary. Proving more students is being caught every day.

Working after Hours

I worked as a pizza maker at an Italian restaurant and bar. I was a very hard worker and did my best to finish the tasks I was given. The restaurant would get fairly busy, especially on Friday nights. I would work with a fellow co-worker and are duties include making the pizza/pasta dinners and also clean the dishes. As one of the most experienced workers at the restaurant I would sometimes get paired with the not so experienced and frankly lazy worker. I'm not going to say any names, so I’ll just call him Scott Ross. Scott would increase my work load by 3 times. He worked very slow and inefficiently. He just didn't care at all how poorly he does his job as long as it would get done. The dishes would sometimes come out of the washer with food residue and it felt like I would be making the dinners alone. When I was paired with Scott on Friday's it was exhausting. My boss would always mention that we need to prepare the food faster. Also, I would either have to stay later with him to make sure everything is done right and when we did this my boss always questioned why we be there so late. I didn’t want to leave the place in a mess from Scott’s poor performance because the boss would be even more upset about that. To make a long story short once I left for college the boss caught on to Scotts poor performance and horrible work ethic and fired him. Therefore my ethics were being blamed for not working fast enough and taking too much time cleaning up/ milking the clock. I continued to work my best and didn’t throw Scott under the bus even though I easily could have. In the end the boss still knows I’m a good employee and still work there over my breaks from school.

American Education System Failing!

This article is about how the American Education System is currently struggling. America is ranked #24 in mathematical ability in the world and #26 in the world in problem-solving ability. The article discusses how there is not much competition for students to do well. Students are not motivated to learn and doing the bare minimum to get by in class. One of the main reasons for the lack of motivation is because classes have become relatively easy. Many students can easily coast by with a B and sometimes even with an A without earning much knowledge. I agree with lack of motivation and grades coming pretty easy, especially in high school! High school students don't want to go the extra mile if they can get a good grade without it.

Learning with Technology!

It is very rare in today’s society for college students to learn without using technology. I use various sources of technology for learning everyday ranging from a handheld calculator to my computer in my room. Textbooks are becoming obsolete and the majority of my classes have online work that I have to stay on top of. The major source of technology I use is my computer. Whether I'm on myclasses checking what work I have due to doing research for an accounting class, my computer is vital to my success. As important as technology is to my learning I am against using any personal source of it in the classroom. With many distractions today on the internet it is almost impossible not to browse while working, especially when you know it's available. I can barely sit in my room and write a paper without getting sidetracked let alone listen to a lecture.

I'm planning on majoring in accounting. Technology is a key resource needed for an accountant. There are many programs, such as excel and access which are used for the job. You also need to be computer savvy to be an effective accountant because all your work is done on the computer. This video have i provided shows someone making a trial balance on the program excel. In the video the person explains formulas entered and other directions on making a trial balance in the program excel. Therefore for an accountant to be successful he must know how use technology.

If you like to film, then you can even put up your own videos for the public to watch. Hot new hip hop is a good site to find the newest hip hop music. If you enjoy the song you listen to the site allows you to download the song too. The site also includes videos and news about music artist.
